Rogers, AR – Sunshine School & Development Center closes Adult Services program and partners with Life Styles, effective at the end of November 2025. The program closure and partnership will allow for continued access to disability support services for families in Northwest Arkansas.
Sunshine School & Development Center has provided disability services to people of all ages touched by disability in Northwest Arkansas for over 65 years. With the decision to sunset the longstanding Adult Services program and shift focus to expanding our early childhood intervention services, Sunshine School is excited to partner with Life Styles to continue specialized care for adult clients. All Sunshine staff and clients have been relocated to other agencies, with most to Life Styles through the partnership.
Located in Fayetteville, Life Styles has over 45 years of experience, enthusiastically supporting individuals with disabilities in reaching their full potential. The organization looks forward to expanding services to Benton County and will continue to serve Sunshine families affected by the program closure.
“This decision was not made lightly - we have been honored to walk alongside our adult clients and support them in their growth, independence, and daily lives,” Sunshine CEO, Jarrod Reeves said. “We are working to make sure the transition is smooth and that every client receives the care and support they need. We remain deeply committed to the individuals we serve and grateful for the trust families have placed in us.”
Looking forward, Sunshine School & Development Center will continue to grow and expand specialized services for children, serving each unique journey through advocacy, therapy, and education.

Sunshine School & Development Center has served Northwest Arkansas for over 65 years. For so many years, having a disability meant being labeled or underestimated for the rest of your life. In 1958, the public education system didn't have a place for any children with special needs. In every space, individuals with disabilities would be categorized, written off, or separated. Thankfully, Sunshine School & Development Center was founded then as Benton County Sunshine School with a commitment to seeing potential in individuals, not problems. Our mission is to shatter limitations to enable people touched by disability, serving their unique journey through advocacy, therapy, and education. Since 1958, Sunshine School & Development Center has served thousands of people in the Northwest Arkansas community by offering a range of services to benefit every child and client that we serve. Because of our work, our families are better advocates, our students aren't limited by their labels, and adults with disabilities thrive in their communities.
