LETTER FROM CEO
CEO Jarrod Reeves gives organization updates.
For years, I served as a volunteer, advocate, and board member for Sunshine School & Development Center. In that time, I witnessed firsthand the impact our organization has on the Northwest Arkansas community. Now, as the new CEO, I am honored to work alongside the many staff and volunteers who exemplify unwavering passion and dedication to the clients and children we serve. It is truly amazing to see the progress and community inclusion of our clients every day. As I begin in this new leadership role, I am committed to following in the footsteps of my friend and mentor, Cyndi Bilyeu. Cyndi’s leadership and vision for Sunshine School are greatly missed, but I am dedicated to continuing her charge while honoring her legacy, as we look to the future.
As we put the challenges of 2020 in the rearview mirror and overcome new obstacles in 2021, the guiding principles of the Sunshine School & Development Center’s mission remains the same, Developing and enriching the lives of individuals and families through therapy, education and support. This mission has allowed our organization to thrive for the last 63 years while adapting and innovating to meet the needs of our community. We remain dedicated to this vision as we embrace future changes.
Exciting things are happening at Sunshine School & Development Center! This month we are implementing a new Applied Behavior Analysis program for children with autism, focusing efforts on community inclusive programs for the adults we serve, and celebrating diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workforce with our Power of Inclusion event. All these programs, services and events are only possible thanks to our passionate volunteers and community partners. For this, I express my sincere gratitude and thanks.
We look forward to the days when we can invite volunteers and guests back into the school to learn about and experience the extraordinary miracles happening daily. Until that time, my [virtual] door is always open. I love to connect with advocates, volunteers and community partners. I can’t wait to see what we will achieve together!
