Occupational Therapy

Sunshine School & Development Center’s Occupational Therapists are a team of board-certified therapists with over 30 years of combined experience. They provide a service that focuses on the use of developmentally appropriate activities to help children meet milestones and more fully participate in the meaningful activities of their daily lives. Our Occupational Therapists have specialized training in therapeutic listening, sensory integration, writing and pre-writing programs, feeding and neuro-developmental treatment.

Sunshine School’s Occupational Therapists use specialized and developmentally appropriate activities, exercises and equipment to address specific areas including, but not limited to:

  • Grasping

  • Handwriting/scissor skills

  • Auditory processing

  • Attention to task

  • Upper extremity strengthening

  • Sensory processing

  • Visual-motor integration

  • Feeding

To evaluate your child’s need for therapeutic services he/she will need to participate in a standardized assessment administered by a licensed and certified therapist. Contact Elizabeth Brown, MS, OTR/L for more information.
