Sunshine School & Development Center has a great team of Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) who are highly qualified and board certified. Our SLPs are trained to evaluate and diagnose speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders and treat such disorders in individuals. They have specialized training in many areas including Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC), oral motor assessments, Sequential Oral Sensory Therapy (SOS), Kaufman Apraxia protocol, Beckman Oral Motor, Food chaining and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).
Sunshine School’s Speech-Language Therapy services address the following communication disorders:

Speech production disorders, such as articulation deficits, phonological processing disorders and childhood apraxia of speech.

Language disorders such as receptive and/or expressive language delays and pragmatic language delays.

Fluency disorders, such as stuttering or cluttering.

Voice disorders, such as resonance (nasality), quality (hoarseness) and voice issues related to a medical diagnosis.

Communication disorders related to hearing impairment.

Communication disorders related to oral facial anomalies, such as cleft lip/palate.

Communication disorders requiring the use of augmentative and/or alternative communication systems.

Oral motor disorders and feeding.

Pediatric swallowing disorders (pediatric dysphagia).
