Letters to Sunshine Families

Please see the two letters below addressed to Sunshine Preschool and Outpatient Therapy Families and to Sunshine Community Support Clients, Families, Staff and Guardians:

Dear Sunshine Preschool and Outpatient Therapy Families,

Sunshine School & Development Center is committed to the health and safety of our students. As we continue to learn more and get advice from medical professionals, we want to share additional information.

At this time, we are following the lead of local public schools regarding a possible temporary closure of preschool and outpatient therapy programs due to COVID-19. If a reason arises that we would need to take another course, we will notify you as soon as possible. Please be prepared for short notice as information is changing rapidly. For up to date information, please visit www.nwasunshineschool.org/covid-19.

We continue to focus on prevention by increasing our cleaning/sanitizing practices, following CDC and ADH recommendations, communicating with staff, restricting guests in the building to only essential visitors, and asking staff who have traveled to areas where Coronavirus is present to remain at home for 14 days at a minimum.

In an effort to keep our students safe, please notify Cyndi Bilyeu if you or your child have traveled outside of our immediate area in the past 14 days. Please know that we will require students who have been exposed to the virus to not attend Sunshine School for 14 days at a minimum.

The safety of the students is of utmost importance. Thank you in advance for your flexibility, communication and partnership to ensure students and staff remain healthy and safe.

Sincerely,

Cyndi Bilyeu

Dear Sunshine Community Support Clients, Families, Staff and Guardians,

Sunshine School & Development Center is committed to the health and safety of our clients. As we continue to learn more and get advice from medical professionals, we want to share additional information.

In an effort to keep our clients, staff and families safe, please notify Cyndi Bilyeu if you or your family have traveled outside of our immediate area in the past 14 days. Please know that we will require staff who have been exposed to the virus to not provide community support services for 14 days at a minimum.

We are requesting clients not attend large crowded events, make minimal trips to stores (attempt to use grocery pick-up services), not visit gyms or malls and stay out in open areas when in the community. Sunshine School is also asking staff and managers to ensure clients have ample amount of food, supplies and medications.

At this time, if public schools and/or adult day treatment programs close, we will be expecting parents/guardians to care for their loved ones at home. We can offer flexible scheduling options, if available, but due to expected staff illnesses, that option may not be available. At this time, for sustainability, we must limit the services we provide to those that allowed in approved plans. In the event of isolation, we will NOT be able to provide staff in the home. For any questions or concerns, please contact Amy Palmer 479-644-9688.

The safety of the clients is of utmost importance. Thank you in advance for your flexibility, communication and partnership to ensure clients and staff remain healthy and safe.

Sincerely,

Cyndi Bilyeu
