We are glad to announce that the parent who was tested for COVID-19 received negative results for his test.
Sunshine School possible exposure: Last night we were notified that one of the parents of a child in the Kindershine classroom has been tested for Covid-19 and is awaiting his test results. He was at Sunshine School on March 13 to drop off his child. He said that because he knew he was at high risk of exposure that he avoided contact with people. According to him, the person he had closest contact with was the classroom teacher. We have communicated with the teacher and she has been socially distancing and will continue to do so. We have also reached out directly to the parents of the children in that classroom.
Important reminders: Please remember that asymptomatic people can pass the virus. All staff, families and students should continue with social distancing and monitor for symptoms. If you have concerning symptoms – dry cough, chest tightening, and fever – you should go to a testing center, not the ER or a doctor’s office, but you should call your primary care physician to let them know you are going to a testing center. The Arkansas Department of Health is a good resource. They are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1-800-803-7847. For weekends and after hours, the number is 1-800-554-5738 or email ADH.CoronaVirus@arkansas.gov.
As we have more information, we will pass that along to you.
